STR Hosts are required to maintain their properties to “above standard” condition, while the majority of Hosts go above and beyond to ensure their properties are attractive and well-maintained. Additionally, STR hosts employee local property cleaners teams, gardeners, handyman, pool cleaners, plumbers, electricians, and laborers on a daily or weekly basis.

STRs are a critical lifeline to the economic wellness of our community.

Our Alliance

The Santa Ana Short Term Rental Alliance (SASTRA) is an unincorporated association of homeowners and hosts who advocate for common sense STR regulation, taxes, permitting and enforcement within the City of Santa Ana for the benefit of its residents and small businesses.

In the wake of the City of Santa Ana's ordinance to ban STRs, SASTRA filed a Complaint (lawsuit) against the City of Santa Ana for five (5) factual claims of relief. We believe Santa Ana has enacted unsupported, unlawful, and unconstitutional ordinances that immediately criminalize host for operating STRs.
